Excuse the facespace screenshot... it’s all I can find.

I’m confused about the brake disc on the front axle.

Is that thing on tractor tires? What a fucking idiot.

Thanks for the daily dose of Florida!

Why is there a brake rotor in the front (and rear?) middle? Looks like a great place to attach some kind of a propeller/saw blade/tool of destruction.

I’m sure that’s very well built with only the finest attention to detail.

Found two images on CarDomain. Profile
And another

Pinion brake, common on Rockwell axles.

Pinion brake. Sawblade would be cool (and VERY Florida!), but I like stopping...

Of course it is. Because Florida.

This isn’t even the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen when I lived down there. It really is the land of the brodozer.

Wow... Cardomain is still a thing? It’s like Myspace for cars owned by YouTube comment-ers.
Good sleuthing!

This thing checks so many boxes

Does that mean there’s no outboard brakes? If so, is a single disk per axle enough to stop those monstrous wheels from spinning?
(And I realize that’s not your car, so at this point I’m just pondering... are you pondering what I’m pondering? )

CarDomain is a great time capsule of what we were all doing in 2004. Everyone abandonded it once more mature social media options became available, and left it all behind for us to enjoy.

What’s the point? I get inboard brakes on sports cars because unsprung weight, but this looks like it’s begging to be destroyed by a rock.

Because the brakes are on the pinion, the braking effectively uses the axle’s gear reduction to increase braking power. It’s not ideal, and definitely not for the street. Rockwell toploader axles use ginormous and extremely heavy drum brakes when they’re in their natural habitat underneath an M35A2. It’s difficult to run a master cylinder large enough to power these huge drums in a redneck mud truck, and they really don’t work that well in such an application especially when packed with mud. There are companies that make brake conversions for Rockwells that are good for street use, but for a trailer/mud pit queen like this, pinion brakes are cheap and effective.

Why? What tires do you recommend for making it through a deep mud hole?

Rocks aren’t really an issue at most mud bogs. Check out my reply to JRapp above.

I miss it... No safety inspections whatsoever, no emissions checks, redneck ingenuity and apathetic police... So much meth-fueled creativity!

just search the site for single words like
ballin, pimp, pimpin, pimped, haters, juggalo, ladies, females,
or any other word you think a 19 year old would say about their car back in 2000-2004. Last time I checked, the search function searches all text in their profile. Name, posts, description, etc..
That’s how I found most of the ones I used for that series.
